I am planning to go on a roadtrip with my bicycle possibly this spring/summer. possibly pretty far, like i might go to other states. anybody have any suggestion on what i should bring with me?
I have a general idea, but i need someone with more experience for advice on what to bring and whatnot for a bicycle road trip.

Money and rain gear would be the top two items. I'm not sure where you are from, or where you plan to go, but those two items are basic in the PNW. More info?

I am from Whidbey Island Washington (State). I am planning to possibly go down SW.
possibly AZ. I know this will be incredibly far for me seeing as this will be my FIRST BICYCLE ROADTRIP EVER. it probably isnt a good idea for me to go so far but i wanted to give my self some challenge to see how far i could go by bicycle ( of course by stopping at various places and not in one go). so some more experienced advie would be very helpful. Also would you know where I can find a good/cheap bicycle trailer? and are all bicycle trailer pretty much compatible with all types of bicycles?

I'd say start out with a trip down the Pacific Coast Highway, from WI, Port Townsend then around the Olympic Peninsula and down the coast. You can go as far as you'd like, but for a first trip you might want to only go as far as San Francisco. It's a great ride, you won't be alone (lot's of other bike travelers) and there are lots of nice camping spots. If you go to AZ it involves crossing the desert, a whole different game, and in my opinion, not much fun. Have fun!

Good bike trailers fit most good bikes. Watch Craigslist for a BOB trailer, they seem to work well for touring.

As others have said, going down the West Coast is a good "beginners" trip. Adventure Cyclist's maps are pretty good: http://www.adventurecycling.org/routes/pacificcoast.cfm , and you'll have plenty of company along the way.
