Texas - Richardson Raffle Ramble

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

DFW area riders, I just wanted to announce a ride that I've been putting together with Bike Friendly Richardson, the Raffle Ramble (http://bikefriendlyrichardson.org/2010/01/25/bfr-presents-the-raffle-ramble-feb-20).
The ride will be held Feb 20, and will start at the Richardson Bike Mart at Campbell and Coit. Participants will have two hours to ride to a set of stops to collect raffle tickets which they can enter into drawings for prizes. So far we have lined up some great prizes from companies such as Chrome, Rido, Knog, The Sufferfest, Walz Caps, and more. While anyone can join the ride, to participate on the raffle, you will need to make a small donation to the American Red Cross to support their Gulf coast chapters from Houston to New Orleans. See the link above for full details.

Sounds interesting, so I'll put it on the calendar.

Are the stops going to be posted anywhere so that riders can plan routes, or do they all have to be out and back from RBM?
Sue and I will be riding there after I get off work at 1:00. Donations are in. So we need to bring in our donation confirmation to do the raffle thing?

I plan to be there. I'll probably take the train from Fort Worth. I need to figure out what the closest stop is to RBM.

Hey Rat Trap look at this map, on the far right are the dart rail stations. RBM is at Coit and Campbell to the left. Sorry for the delay in answering. My laptop charger died and I needed to order a new one.
Anyway, we had been planning on announcing the locations at the ride, but it might be better to announce them ahead of time. We'll make a decision on this and announce it by Monday. However, it won't require out and backs.

I'll have a list of donors' names and email addresses. But if you bring your donation confirmation, it'll make it a bit easier on me.

For those wondering about the Raffle Ramble stops, the stop locations, as well as some suggested routes to get to them are now available at Bike Friendly Richardson (http://bikefriendlyrichardson.org/). If you have any more questions, post 'em here or just show up at Richardson Bike Mart at Coit & Campbell around 1pm.

I was hoping to do this, but will instead be doing a 200k to make up for the one I didn't do last week when it was cold, foggy, dark, and windy. Y'all have fun. Maybe I'll make the next event.
Last minute bailout for me...I've been drafted by a friend to sit and wait for the cable guy at his new house. (Like he couldn't reschedule?)
I usually like the guy so I'll do it...:notamused:
...but I don't have to like it.
Looks like a great course I would rather be riding with everyone.
