Tandem Cycling - Update on my favorite stoker - Last week I hought I might have lost him.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

This might be a bit off topic, but I posted in the 50+ about the ongoing saga of my 6 y/o grandson, Tyler. To make a very long story very short, a week ago last Tuesday he was diagnosed (80%) with a fatal brain disease after suffering a seizure on Monday.

This past Tuesday the spinal tap results came back negative, taking this horrible prospect off the table. :D They now think it was all just a very rare reaction to the experimental antibody treatment he was on to prevent cancer re-occurrence.

Here is a pic of my buddy on our maiden tandem voyage back in August, just before he went into Miami Children's hospital for the month of September for a stem cell transplant.

That is good news! glad to here he's negative on that grandkids are so special I have 5 and certainly fill for you.
Great picture of you both I take my grandkids out on my tandem also they really enjoy it, hope he's doing good now and gets out on that tandem again soon.
I had kids cranks for them so they could pedal they really enjoy that he looks like he may be able to pedal with crank extenders.

Great news. Thanks for sharing it. Just a reminder of how lucky we are to have the people in our lives.

I'm going home early to hug my 6 y/o.

Hey, I'm glad to hear that he's okay. :)

He's lucky to have a fantastic grandfather to ride with and look out for him. :thumb:
