Anyone know the safest route (or any other) to the Golden Gate Bridge from Lake Merced, or anything South-er than that? (Like San Bruno)

From Lake Merced, I usually take the Great Highway north to Golden Gate Park.
During weekday rush hour, you may feel more comfortable on the Great Highway sidewalk north of the zoo or the inner Great Highway frontage road.
Take JFK Drive in the park and turn left at the boat pond (36th Ave).
Jog over to 34th Ave. and up the hill to the Legion of Honor.
At the other side of the Legion of Honor, follow El Camino Del Mar to the right and down the hill.
Continue on Lincoln Blvd. to the GG Bridge.
