i guess i'm an idiot...

i just got these pedals, and i can't get the plastic platform off...

i am twisting it both directions, pretty hard (yes i am a road biker, but i do have some upper body strength), and they won't come off.

so, i thought maybe the spring tension is too high..., so i tried to adjust it down, and i can't turn the adjustment screws. i don't have the correct size metric allen wrench, so i am using the closest non-metric size i have, and using as much torque as i dare, but they only move about 1/16 of a turn.

i am going to get some metric allen wrenches, but i assume i am doing something wrong here...

Just use a flathead screwdriver and pry the cages open a little, than you can pop the plastic platforms off easily.

thanks, the screwdriver worked - i have gotten the platforms off.

what about the adjustment screws?

i have found an allen wrench of the correct size, but the adjustment screws don't turn - should i just use more force?

i'm afraid i'll break something.

Should turn rather easily, try a coulple drops of penetrating oil first.
