24 hour races are great- but why share the excitement by doing it on a team.

Only ever done one and never again. I slept for 2 days afterwards and couldn't sit down for a week.

^ big bear is a mountain city out here in southern, ca.

Has a couple of ski resorts etc... I was curious too b/c right now they're buried in snow and they're only letting people who live there up the road atleast that was the story last week.

Count me in. You handle the climbs and I'll take care of descents.

If it was in July or August I'd say I could do it, as the way things look right now, I'm going to West Virginia University in Morgantown lol..

But then again, I don't think anyone on this forums would let me ride with them =(
dont under estimate the hack lol.

I know a team that actually did this for the Hoodoo 500 (road bike race). I have a feeling the event this thread is about has a determined relay point.

im seriously considering this for next year... I've always wanted to do a long race (maybe a 8-12 hour would be a better intro to this field of racing) but hmmm......

you can do a full one, no rules against sleeping and taking breaks

yea i guess since stopping and breaks is allowed, I could travel lite, carrying water and energy food and bare minimum just to get me back to the rally point.

If/when i find and decide to do one of these, there will be a thread on it =P lol

nah, we just keep checking. I do daily. I want to get in the 24 hours of Moab before it closes. I do not think I can do the 9 Mile event. Would like to do Big Bear and Moab though

Looks like an awesome race. I would be interested, but I lack skills and will likely be out of the country at the moment.

It sucks.

Not bad...it's awesome in the summer/winter break when the students aren't here... Traffic is absolutely insane otherwise...

Riding is GREAT here... lots of good trail systems within a 30 mile radius, Coopers Rock, Big Bear, Valley Falls, Bakers Ridge is right in town and has about 15 miles of REALLY technical trail...

Not bad if you're a roadie either... lots of good country roads with some disgusting climbs...

It's a good place to live, with a really decent bike culture....
