Classic & Vintage - Help id my Pug! Early 80s PSV-10?

Hey all you Pug experts! Any thoughts on year or exact model? I picked this up for a song last weekend while visiting my father out in the Tucson area. I'll overhaul it next time I'm out there and keep it as my bike to ride during my 3-4 trips per year there.

It's a lovely pearl white, Super Vitus 980 tubing, Peugeot badged Simplex derailleurs, Stronglight cranks, unmarked hubs (maillard or spidel?) laced to nice Mavic tubulars. I barely had time to touch it, but look forwarding to getting it back on the road.

Also, any concerns over that fork angle? It looks on the cusp of steep to me. There are no signs of damage or paint distress to the underside of the top or down tubes.

Looks like a PSV - you can check the serial number on the bottom and then got http://cyclespeugeot.com/SerialNumbers.html to determine the years as best you can. I've got a couple of Super Vitus frames (980 & 983) and absolutely love the ride. The PSV is a light, quick responsive ride. I always regret giving my brother mine and now have my dad's even though it's a little too tall.

I wouldn't be surprised after you ride it a few times that it ends up back home with you to see the road a lot more.

Thanks fellas. Great info! The only possible difference that I see is that it lists the rims as grey, while my Mavics are not.

I was aware of the serial number info,. but this Pug has the delrin bb cable guides attached to the underside, obscuring most of the serial number. I expect to get back out there in late April (with either some new sew-up tires or a clincher wheelset) and do some riding in the perfect Arizona spring weather.

That is indeed a minty fresh looking 82/83 Peugeot PSV!
Looks respeldent in it's all original equipment, specially nice is it's original "drillium" Stronglight 104bis drilled crankset which was a signature feature of the PSV back then.
The PSV was my dream bike back in the early 80's after I first saw it for sale in Peugeot bike shops as a college kid. I realized that dream in 1984 after saving up and buying this:

After 25 years, I still love riding my PSV and will always be special to me for years to come for sure!
Welocme to the PSV club and I hope you enjoy your bike as much as many other PSV fans out there, including me!
BTW, I suggest going with sewups. I first tried sewups on my PSV last fall and the ride was phenomenal! fast, smooth, and the cobblestones and bumps virtually dissapear underneath them in combination with the PSV frame's compliance.
