Hey, I'm trying to remove my crank off my 2000 specialized rock hopper comp. I got the parktool CCP-4 and am having some problems. It seems like I am meeting alot of resistance to the point where I can no longer turn the wrench. I'm wondering if there is anything I am doing wrong or is it normal, should I just muscle up and keep turning? thanks

What color is the handle of your crank puller? If you have a square taper crankset, you need the blue handled tool. If you have a splined crankset, you need the black handled tool. In addition to the differently colored handles the two tools have different spindles to push against the different diameter bottom bracket spindles.
Another frequently overlooked issue has to do with washers under the crankbolt. Make sure that yours aren't still in there.
Make sure that all of the above is correct and that you have the the tool fully threaded into your crankarm before you put too much muscle onto it. Otherwise you risk ruining the threads on your crankarm.
