Introductions - Hello from Idaho

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have lived in the Boise area for the past thirty years and came originally from Phoenix, AZ. I have been riding bikes for over 35-years and spend most of my time on commuting, touring and mountain bikes. I ride a Giant XTC, Kona Smoke 2.9 and Specialized Hybrid bikes.
Bicycling charges my batteries and allows me to take in the world at a slower pace besides being good for the environment.
I look forward to getting to know you through Bike Forums.
Ride safe.

I'm in Boise as well. I have just really started biking. How do you find Boise as a biking town? I've lived here my whole life, but I usually see it from a car and while it seems fairly safe for bikers, I'm sure it's completely different on the other side (which I am slowly discovering).

Boise claims to be biker friendly. However, I find that most traffic is O.K. But in areas with little roadway for a cyclist some don't like sharing the road. With the severeal recent bicycle accidents and deaths make sure you are visible. Especially during these winter overcast days or take the Greenbelt.
Ride safe, RC
