This morning, about 15 miles into my ride, I was going thru Washington park on the way home,,
I was riding my 42 pound knobby tired hardtail MTB, at a tad under 17 mph, when this young girl (lady?), on roller blades caught up with me, and was along side for a short time, I commented on her nice pace and told her how fast we were going, she smiled, said "thanks", and a "thumbs up", and proceeded to "Drop"me" like I was parked,,,,Never saw her again,
Wonder if that means I'm really old????
Sure was humbling..

Don't feel bad.....she had probably taken some performance enhancing substances, like maybe testosterone?

I'm sure her skates weighed less than 42 pounds......and they had smooth wheels.

Its my "winter" bike, it takes twice the effort for the same riding, as the 21 lb Gianni Motta steel, I usually ride, but since I don't have the same riding opportunities in the winter ,I can expend the same effort, in half the time...
I am still amazed that she could be that fast on roller blades...Oh well , always something new..
