Coiler is a little more burly but is also heavier and more heavy use trail (like a short travel stinky)...
The enduro is lighter and meant more for trails. The suspension design on it is better and will pedal better.
Personally..depending on usage I would go for either. If you were looking for some shuttle runs on a mountain the coiler is stronger. But I do know enduros are tought too. My buddy rode his on whistler for quite a while. Enduro 80% of the time ;)

Specialized vs. Kona is a "No Brainer", Dude.... Go Specialized .

If you are hard on your bikes I suggest the Kona. It is a light freeride/heavy trail bike and will handle just about everything you need it to. The Specialized would be better for longer trail rides xc type stuff. It is lighter and will handle some hard hits but not as well as the Kona.
For all around riding I prefer Konas but I am biased since all my bikes are Konas but both bikes are good.
Best thing to do if you can is ride both of them and get the one that feels the best.

WTH are you thinking man...either is good, just the different models and preferences. In many cases, REAL bikes and their own brands are often a match for each other. It depends on the prices, models and what you're going to use if for.
As for my opinion, I ditto maelstrom. Like if you do XC and also DH on the same bike, you will feel a difference. On xc, things would be harder with a dh bike, and with an xc bike on a dh course, you will feel roughed up ( i think).
If you want everything, my opinion would be the specialized. I won't say what xtreme biker said, but in this case, I find the specialized better.

when i first saw that post, i was gonna give the benefit of the doubt and say he posted that "no brainer" comment after the auction for the coiler ended. but after checking the times, it seems that he posted it before the auction ended. oh well... so much for benefit of the doubt.
anyhow, i'm wondering if he's the one who ended up winning the bid for the coiler since he hasn't posted back.

Hey Guys... What the Fuuck R U talking about? Duh Way too techie 4 me... I just know the past reputation of Kona vs. Specialized. I chose Spec'd then & I stick withem now (over Kona anyway). I actually chose HARO over Specialized because of it's bang 4 the $$$ value....
So you both R wrong on that lit'l tangent.....
and BTW, I didn't win any auction on a mtnBike. I already have 5 bikes, Duh....

I was just wandering, both are good bikes.
But really comparing the Coiler to an enduro is like comaring apples to oranges. It would be more fitting to see a Dawg Primo compared to an Enduro. The coiler is way too far off category to be compared to an Enduro.

Actually to some point I agree. Kona, at times, doesn't have a good reputation in canada with getting things warrantied. Kind of why I moved away from them as my primary bike co.
