(For non Torontonians, it is a large loop inside the GTA)
I took the ride for the first time on Saturday, and it was my first group ride. Are all group rides like this? because that was pure euphoria! I'm hooked to road cycling now.

Talking about donuts, I had the best donuts I've ever had this morning on the way to work.

They were being sold at a street fair, fresh & hot, right out of the fryer. So soft, light and with a crunchy outside and moist inside! I hope I find them again at the next street fair.

i'd have to say no. the donut is the fastest and largest "group ride" in toronto. since it's so large though you can find your niche. toronto biking network (TBN) has some nice rides too. a lot of them begin at yonge/finch where i live, so i prefer those. if you're coming from SW of toronto, some of the TBN rides start at kipling station too. you should check out hte website, www.tbn.ca. if you like the donut, look at the tourist/advanced tourist rides.

Well I must admit, I was dropped from the pack that was dropped from the main group. But the 10-15 guys with whom I kept the pace held a good pace for me. I'm quite sure there are packs for slower and any other speed riders anyway.

I'm not sure of the avg speed, as the main pack is far beyond my skills. I was holding about 34km/h with about 8 other people. I know for sure that the pack leaves at Eglington and Laird (Laird is about 5 lights east of Yonge) at 9:00 AM sharp on saturdays and sundays and I also hear about holidays. There are other meeting spots which join up with the Eg & Laird group, but I forget them. As long as you can go 80km in a group, and can avg over 30km/h, you're fine.
