Cyclocross - Parts for a road/cross build, help.

I'm going to start building a geared bike in the coming months. This will have to be a dual duty bike for me, I want something great for road and good for cross. I'm not new to riding but I am new to geared bike for the most. I was thinking I'll have about 4000to spend and was looking at:

SRAM rival group.
Brakes I'm looking into and spooky or the trp stuff.
king or wood hubs to open pros with the highest spoke count I can.
I have some seats, posts and bars to try out.
Frames I'm interested in are the rock lobster team scadium, voodoo limba, I like the cannondale bikes to for the bb30.
What other frames would be good for this duty? I'm open to other options. I've only got money for one build and I'd like to make the right choices.

Wheels:
32x3 is fine.
For your clincher wheelset, use Velocity Aerohead rims with the O/C version for the rear.
For your tubular set, use Ambrosio Nemesis rims, and glue on a nice wide tire with the standard tread, i.e. Challenge Grifo 34.

O/c version?

OC = off center. They compensate for the dish of geared wheel sets and thus equalize the tension between the drive side and the non-drive side. Basically, they are stronger.

Ok. So for equal length spokes. I have 2 fixed bikes and that's why the rear wheels are fixed fixed and high flange. Trying to make the wheels as strong as possible.

Trying to make the wheels as strong as possible.A bit of dish is no big deal but 10-speed road hubs are so dished that it is hard to build a wheel with much spoke tension on the non-drive side. They go out of true more easily, fail more often, etc etc. For a traditional wheel build, off-center rim is probably the best approach, and I've heard very good things about the Aeroheads.

If I were on the market I'd be tempted to just get a Helios wheelset (which uses the Aerohead rim) and save the handbuilding for the tubular wheelset.

I think for now I'll do a nice clincher build up. Once I get back into shape I'll spend some money for a nice tubular set and learn the ins and outs of gluing tires on.

So I finally got my return and called Rock Lobster today and it seems that there won't be any of the scadium bikes being built anytime soon. I'm thinking about the cinelli zydeco frame/fork, I have a vegorelli track frame from cinelli that I love. The only concerns I have is the integrated headset that I see people talking about and the fact that the bike hasn't been ridden by anyone as of yet.
So what are everyones opinions on this?
