Has anyone heard about the new hayes mechanical disc brakes? I couldn't find any reviews on MTBR. I'd like to know how they measure up to the avids. You can't find avids for $70 now like you could a few weeks ago. And the 2002 avids can't be found for less than $90 an end. The hayes mechanicals are $75 an end at pricepoint, so their definitely competing price-wise. In case you couldn't tell I'm going to be buying new mechanical brakes in the very near future.:D

What kind do you have? I would stick with Avid personally, if mechanical is where you're headed.

I would highly recommend the Avids. I have them on my bike and love 'em.

Over the years I have had the chance to ride and work on pretty much every brand of Discs out there. My hands down favorite, mech or hydro, is the Avids. They have the power of a hydro but a better lever feel. My second favorite are the Grimeca System 8's.

Just my opinion.:)
