Hello all,

I am planning on building a 100% Flax Fibre composite XC Mountain Bike Frame.

I thought i'd post here to see if anyone has any experience with flax (apart from Museeuw who is currently making road bike frames made from a flax/carbon composite)

I am having trouble sourcing the flax.

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Google "flax yarn" instead of flax fiber and you'll get tons of hits.

Ulster, Belgium and Hungary have lots of linen/flax. You might try looking up a trade association there. Museeuw are working with a composite company in Belgium to make the tubes, which they then ship to Billato in Italy, who make the frames.

Great idea btw. Flax is a good environmental choice for W. Europe.
