i took too many wraps at the bottom and ran out of tape near the top. so i had to undo it and not wrap it so closely, but by then the glue wasn't holding it tight and i had to use electrical tape to tighten it up. also, on one side i wrapped in a direction that causes me to tourque the tape loose with my hands (if that makes any sense). so, everytime i pull back on the bars for leverage, i'm sort of undoing the tape on that side. just a really shotty job all around.

Last - A Bergamo full zip jersey.

Next - new bike!

LordOpie & timmhaan…I just went through this myself. A couple of tips from the Zinn book really helped.
- Always start from the bar end and work your way toward the stem.
- You need to stretch the tape quite a bit as you wrap.
- Overlap half to quarter the width of the tape.
- Run a glue stick over the curved area of the bars. This will help keep the tape from sliding in these areas.
I used the Cinelli gel tape. A bit pricey but it looks and feels great.

thanks for the advice! that's a good idea to put a little extra glue on the curved areas...that's an area where mine came loose.

Moonshot, the Viner is supposed to ship today (i ordered it last week). i'll be sure to give a full report and take some pix when it arrives. the only problem is i'm liable to like it a bit too much because it's such a ridiculous upgrade from my 8yr old alum GT with RSX!

Well since I just got back into it I just bought almost everything. In the last week: '03 Marin Argenta, Shimano SPD Pedals, Performance shorts, Performance Jersey, Ascent Cyclocomputer, Spin Doctor Rescue FS multi tool.

Next is hard as I am pretty spent out for a while. I can see getting some better shoes (looking at Sidi Ergo Carbon :D ) and that is about it.

Yes, they are pretty decent,
I got one for my fiance (fluid2) and she trained on it all last winter.
She put in an hour on it three times a week just to maintain, and we
haven't had any drama at all.

Came with a training video from Chris Carmichael which was
really good to motivate you into doing a decent workout on it.

Still it is always going to be horribly boring compared to riding outside.

Cheers

last: Bell Ghisallo helmet.

next: new hardtail mtb with XT.

:D I've been wearing my old Perfomance helmet from '92, VERY light ~205g (styrofoam core with a lycra cover but meets ANSI and SNELL) but it looks extremely old school (I'm keeping it for long hill climbs). Performance had the '04 Ghisallo for ~$50 after 20% off coupon so I WENT FOR IT! Looks sleek and cool.

Did you get the Viner with the carbon fork or the chrome? Is it fully lugged...I've forgotten.

I was thinking of the Viner Competition vs. The Viner Pro Team Compact. Both are almost the same price.

Did you decide between the two? If you did can you tell me why you chose the Competition.

P.S. It's a great deal isn't it?

Any pictures?
