Northeast - Anybody Done the Natchez Trace?

Planning a two-day ride starting in Nashville. No camping...hope to find B&B's. Help and advice needed.

I've done the Trace on a motorcycle. It's in the middle of nowhere.

Nothing on the Trace, except nice riding - everything is off the trace, and not really much close to the exits. Low, slow, traffic, and not much - at that..

Plan your trip well, before you start......

If you plan accordingly there are places in certain areas, Tupelo for instance, where you could find something close to the Trace. From my experience you can find things close to most "major" highways that the Trace crosses, 82 and 78 for example. If you are only looking at doing two days and you are starting in Nashville you probably won't have to worry about making it much further than Tupelo at best and probably some point North of there would be more likely. I think it's close to 100 miles from the Nashville "start" of the Trace to the AL/TN line and maybe another 100 to Tupelo from that area.

I've ridden in MS the last two Octobers, but not on the Trace. Got rained out this year. I've done the Long Leaf Trace, which is to the south, and just a nice bike path.

I have been looking into it as a spring tour. Probably won't do it this year, but it's on my list. The National Park Service has a very thorough and detailed map on their site showing food stops, etc. You will also find a few ride reports on CrazyGuyonaBike.com
