Introductions - G'day from Melbourne

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi everyone. I'm a fair-weather commuter from Melbourne, Australia. I keep coming back to this site when googling for gear, so I thought I would sign up and say Hi.
Great information here, thanks for that.
Peter.

Welcome to Bike Forums, Peter!
What kind of bike do you ride?

Hi Cbad & burton, thanks for having me.
I ride a Learsport (local company around here): http://www.learsport.com.au/images/lear7700%20small.jpg, when taking the long way to work. I've cracked two frames and on to my third. But, I have to say the warranty service is very good.
I ride a Norco mountain bike (circa 2000) when going the short way. It's got knobby tires, and it's too small for me but for some reason I'm still enjoying it.
I have a dream about getting a commuter bike that's big enough for me (6'6 and 115kgs) and has panniers, gear hubs, dynamo, the whole works. But they're pretty hard to find down here.
