... of US Postal for the Vuelta?
Can't imagine who else they would pick to ride as captain.
Did you forget about Jose Azevedo? He finished 5th in the Tour this year.

Mmm good call. How is he at TT? Just wondering if they would go with more of an all arounder.
He is a good time trialist.

Landis does well in two stages and everyone forgets about the three or so other Posties that could probably do a lot better as a GC rider.

Not to be repetitive, but he finished 5th in the Tour. Not in the KOM, or Points, but the GC. Seems good all around to me.
Azevedo said he won´t ride the Vuelta cause he thinks that would be too much...Rubiera, who also said he skippes the tour, said that Beltran will be the captain for USPS..but I´m afraid the team might be a little weak...at the moment Beltran,Pena,Rincon,Landis, van Heeswijk,Barry,Zabriskie,Devolder and Joachim are on the list...
Don't forget that Antonio Cruz is also on that list. He has completed the Vuelta the two times that he has started. Postal has not said that they will be riding for G.C.. If Rubiera and Azevedo do not ride and Postal does decide to ride for G.C., Postal could benefit by having a clear leader in Beltran. They also rode well in 2002 when the team did not appear to be stacked and Van de Velde had a breakthrough ride, helping Heras to the podium.
Looking at the list, I wouldn't mind seeing Beltran or Landis, but I think Beltran looks to be a better all around rider.
I do hope that Landis has good luck with his new team and develops into the great, all around rider we know he has the potential to becoming!

Spain? It's the big European country that OLN hates.....but that's not important right now...

So Floyd is absolutely going to a new team? Dang. I wonder if that'll piss Lance off.
Seems that Postal is becoming the de facto training team for future team leaders.
From what Ventura said, Landis is leaving and has already been replaced.

Cruz has resigned with Discovery and has confirmed that he is riding the Vuelta. Watch out for Tony next year. His family will be moving back to Europe with him next year. I know what kind of dad he is and how much he misses his wife and kids when he is in Europe. H aving them over there again will bring a new focus to his racing and he will kick some butt! If Landis is going to new team, I wonder if Postal will even send him to the Vuelta. Jonathon Vaughters was riding extremely well his last year at Postal but had signed with Credit Agricole before the Vuelta and was then left off the Vuelta team.
