Need a recommendation on glossy black fenders for my MTB which is currently in service as my commuter. Black hardware also would be appreciated for attaching the front fenders, as I realy don't like chrome.
Anyone know where to look?
Thanks!

SKS chromoplastic are available in black, in various widths.
I don't know how they compare to Freddy's, but Ive seen nothing better anywhere.

Thanks for the tips, that shows me where I need to go. Don't want to end up with some cheap junky ones when I do my rebuild. I'd prefer metal but plastic will work too ;-)

The Freddy Fenders from Planet bike hold up amazingly well. I have two sets in service and ride them all winter long. Here it gets cold enought I would think they would break in the winter, but they just keep going, and they maintain their shape. Metal will bend, but these don't lose their original form even when they experience some trauma.
The hardware is metalic on the Hardcore version of the Freddy's which I would recomend. Not chrome, but alloyish (kind of like a stock spoke). You could easily paint the hardware black.

The PB Freddy Fenders also have "quick-releases" on the stays, so that if you bang or snag one, the quick-release will disconnect, rather than bending the stay or cracking the fender. Oh, and remember, PB donates 25% of its profits to bike advocacy. If you're a member of a bike advocacy group, you get free shipping.

I was ready to say definitely get SKS. They are extremely high quality and constructed of an aluminum and plastic sandwich. I must admit that the snap away feature of the Freddy Fenders sure sounds good.

SKS really are good stuff. I just had to mount them without the safety releases. The disc brake eats up too much room in the area they're supposed to be installed.

KSKS have the safety feature breakaway front stays. They worked for me.
