Hello all, I thought I'd post this here since I'm sure the tourers have some experience in this area. I am driving from Pennsylvania to the Outer Banks in a couple of weeks. I have a vacation rental for Sun-Sun the week of Labor Day. I'd like to start my vacation a little early by driving down to the Delmarva Peninsula and riding a loop in the 40-60 mile range on the Saturday before my vacation officially starts. Keep in mind this will be the Saturday of Labor Day weekend, so I want to keep to fairly rural routes. Some ideas I had were the Assateague area or possibly Rock Hall / Chestertown, MD area. I've been to St. Michael's/Easton several times so thought I'd like to try something new. Does anyone have any suggestions?

My suggestions would be backroads around the Snow Hill Md. area located between Assateague and Chincoteague,backroad loop to the south of Cambridge Md. towards Blackwater Wildlife Refuge or probably the least congested backroads would be the Va. section south of Chincoteague where you could find a loop in the Wachapreague/Accomac/Pungoteague/Exmore area or even better the Kiptopeke/Oyster/Cape Charles area making sure to stop at the Eastern Shore Wildlife Refuge.Haven't biked any of these areas though I would like to but have explored all these areas by car extensively.
