Southern California - New Giant TCR

So I am looking to buy a new Giant TCR Advanced but am running into issues.

My budget directs me to the Advanced 2. I want a white frame but this only comes in black. I want Ultegra 6700 but I like compact gearing and there is no choice. I could buy the compact crank only but still black frame.

Next in line is the Advanced 1. White frame looks really cool. Better wheels as well. Drivetrain is SRAM Force which I don't know much about other than a few reviews. I would consider but again, only standard gearing and no compact option.

I then thought about building a bike with the frame only option and all similiar components to the Advanced 2 but that will cost me about $700.00 more. Uggghhhh!!!!

Would it be crazy for me to buy the Advanced 1, sell the SRAM group and buy a new Ultegra compact group?

i would get the advanced 1, keep the force, and add a compact crank.

Bought a bike with a compact chain rings... NOT HAPPY!!!
Lucky for me FSA makes larger chain rings for the 110 mm crank set.
The gear shifting seemed to just be off a little. With standard gearing if I drop to the smaller ring, with a change of two up on the cassette and the bike was in the right gear.
With the 50/34 Chain rings I was shifting 3 maybe 4 on the cassette to get in the right spot again.
The gear changing seemed to be a momentum killer both climbing hills and when riding in the club TT.
A 22-11 cassette didn't even make it feel good. Borrow a bike with the smaller rings to make sure it is what you want.
Although the Compact crankset seems to have more options for us mortal riders. You have a choice of 50 or 52 large ring and a choice of 34, 36, 38 inner rings and any combination thereof.

With a 130mm chain ring the choice seems to go up from 39 to 42 to 44 and the outer fing goes 53, 54, 55.
There is most likely a lot more in the specialty department.

With quite a few of my regular rides including hills with 10%+ average grade and me weighing 190, compact gearing is a great way to go. I did consider standard gearing with Shimano's new 11-28 rear but not sure how that compares.

keep the force, I really like the groupo, you will learn to appreciate the double tap. I've ridden around OC a bit, done most of the group rides around there, como, food park, there are no hills on those rides IMO that you really need a compact (I'm an average rider). Just get out and ride and you'll be fine with a 53/39 unless you are pretty heavy. Ok, well I just reread your last post, I still think you'll be fine with a standard, but I thought sram made a compact for the force groupo.

So I am not completely stoked with any of my Giant options even though I really like the bike itself and get 25% off. I am going to look at a couple other bikes. Anyone have input on the Pinarello FP3
