HI
I owned a Specialized Globe Vienna 3 Women bicycle which got stolen recently.
As a replacement the insurance company offers me a Vita sport Women.
It seems a better bike on Specs, but I have never tried it and am wondering how it will do with a 15+ kilos child in the back plus a basket at the front.
The child seat they are offering is Hamax Siesta.
I use the bike to commute (about 4 miles) and occasionally on week ends on cycle paths.

An advice will be wellcome!

thanks

Although there are many similarities, the Vita has shorter chainstays and greater trail. I'd thus expect the handling on the Vita to be a bit quicker and require a bit more effort to maintain a straight line and less input to begin a turn. The weight of your child + seat will likely have a greater effect on the Vita's handling than what you experienced with the Vienna. It may not be a significant or bothersome difference to you, though. But still, since your cargo is your child, I think you should be allowed the consideration of a long test ride before accepting it as adequate and fair replacement. Have you discussed this with your Specialized dealer?

Edit: Geez, didn't notice how old this post was. Guess it was resolved. Nevermind me. I'll just be moving along...
