There are probably better examples but the Langster Steel comes to mind.

Pic?

Im just saying what your definition of "classic"? A little more info would be useful for us. Some people think 1980's would be a classic. Personally, I think it would be a 1960's-1970's bike to be a classic. Everything else is just in limbo.

Kilo TT maybe would suit you if you dont want to spend much.

i would love an njs bike. but i dont have the cash for that. and i dont really want the kilo. i just wanted to know so i could have a good chance of just searching it on google, and finding a website that i could buy a nice bike from.

I don't think $500 for a 4130 chromoly steel frame is worth it.

depends on how you build it up. someone recently finished building up that purple pake and it looks pretty "old school."

That's not "old style track" at all. Even the kilo has a lugged fork.
I suggest the SE Premium brew frameset. 250 bikeisland, shipping included, frame/fork/headset. Lugged frame and fork, very nice looking dropouts too.

I agree with the other guy, NJS is what you are looking for - but the prices are absurd for the hipsters looking for NJS everything, no matter what the price, even though they arent even keirin racers.

Yes it is mine. Thanks for the complement. I have a set of custom laminated wood handlebars on it right now. Just need this damn snow to go away.

I don't think $500 for a 4130 chromoly steel frame is worth it.

Most if not all NJS frames are made with 4130 chromoly tubing.

seeing as the page doesn't mention any butting, i'm guessing there isn't any. I get what you're saying when kaisei 019 and 022 are the 4130 alloy but are manipulated differently and are generally straighter. plus i'm sure there's japanese frames built with the nickel alloy steels and such.

but bad deal on that affinity. I got my en jay ess frame with hatta swan hs and sugino 75bb for 420 shipped. njs isn't out of reach, you just have to look for it.

A vintage looking frame or a vintage looking bike?

That Affinity bike you posted didn't have anything really vintage going for it (no lugs even), it just had vintage-esque stem, bars, decals, wrap, and wheelset. It seems like you're more interested in a finished look than the actual frame - in which case you can do almost anything with components.

anything can look 'old school' with the right parts.

High flange hubs
box section rims
skinwall tires
threaded headset
chunky italian saddle (or brooks)

Not old style, just plain authentically old.
