Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am in conversations with an owner of a PX 10, and I’m not sure what the fair market value of the bike is, and what would be a fair offer for it.
The link below has a bunch of photos that he has sent me. To my untrained eye, the seatpost and seat aren’t original and the bike needs new tires.
I’m not trying to lowball the owner, just interested in whether this bike is worth pursuing and, if so, what a fair price for it would be.
Thank you!!

The seatpost, saddle and freewheel are not original. It's possible the entire wheelset is a replacement, perhaps at the time of purchase. The paint appears to be in good shape but the rust on the chrome of the RD and brakes, etc would concern me. My guestimate on value would be $200-300 but it could go higher with a bit of cleanup. It could make a good rider but I wouldn't try to restore it as you can find the same bike in much better condition, completely original for ~ $500.

Skewers are worth $75-100 if the plastic nuts aren't cracked. That being said, somewhere along with Iowegians estimate, minimum of $2-300, maximum of ?.

Thanks to you both for your thoughts and information...that price estimate is in line with what I was thinking...the bikes looks like it's in reasonably good shape...although, in visiting the CyclesPeugot website...I noticed that a few photos on the PX10 section of the site (the example of the '74 PX 10E) are the same as what the seller sent me....he sent me many more photos, but now I'm wondering if he's trying to pull a fast one, or if it's just a coincedence.....
Thanks again!

I worked out a price of $350 with the seller...but I think I'm going to pass....with my recent purchase of my Paramount...I'm a little light in the bike fund, and it would have been a stretch to acquire....thanks again for the information and thoughts....
