Okay, FOOniverse, I am not asking for medical advice; rather, I am asking which direction to take regarding contacting a doctor about something. I am presenting this as serious business, despite what you are about to read a few inches down below...
I have had this cyst-like thing since I was about 14 years old. It has been there for the past 18 years with no change and I have never thought anything of it as I have a few cysts in other parts of my body that are harmless. But, something tells me that maybe it is time to think about this particular one.
I don't go to a regular physician, and here are some important details which may explain why I wouldn't talk to a normal physician about this anyway:
---The cyst thing is just above my scrotum.
---I randomly found this term: "sebaceous cyst", which seems to describe it, but again, see its location.
---It is very hard to find (my wife can't find it; only I can).
---You can only find it when I have an erection (since it seems to be near the major blood vessel, which makes it possible to be found at that certain time).
---How do I approach a doctor about finding a cyst in that particular spot only to be found when I have an erection?
---Would people think I am some type of perv or misguided in some way if I prefer to only have a female doctor have a look at it?
---I am only assuming it is a cyst; it might not be, which is why I figure it should be checked out even though it hasn't changed a bit in 18+ years.
It has taken me 3 years to ask this, so go easy on me.
But, basically, what type of doctor do I call who would not bat an eye when I ask about this?
