Introductions - Hello from the L.A. area

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi everyone!
Another newb here! Just wanting to introduce myself. I'm Sami and I live in the L.A. area. I am totally new to biking, just bought one yesterday. I got a Trek 7.2 FX womens bike. It's so pretty. It's my first "real" bike! Anyone have any experience with these? Today will be my first day commuting to work by bike. I'm excited and a little nervous. Wish me luck. :thumb:

Thanks 10 wheels! I'll be commuting 5 miles each way. And thanks for the advice, I plan to leave super early this morning so I can take it slow and enjoy the ride. :-)

You have a nice bike.
I rode in LA last summer. I enjoyed the rides.
Just have fun.....

I'm glad you enjoyed the L.A. rides. I'm a little nervous about L.A. drivers! Hopefully I can find some good routes that aren't too trafficky. (Is that a word? lol)

You may get some horn honks, but that is totally normal for commuters.
