Hello everyone!
My name is Vladimir and I am from Montreal, Canada.
I do not have a bike just yet, but I am currently shopping for one.
I am planning on biking from Montreal to Ottawa (224km) in one day this summer (i'm thinking August) as well as participating in Ride to conquer Cancer (Montreal to Quebec in 2 days).

I am interested in photography and fitness (I go to a CrossFit studio).

I'm hoping to find advice on how to train and prepare for my bike ride as well as maybe finding people that would be willing to join me.

Cheers!

Welcome Vladimir to Bike Forums.
Your local bike shop can help you with the proper sized bike.
They may also know of bike rides and riding groups that you could join.

Welcome - there are lots of good bike shops in Montreal. I bought mine at Velomane on Hochelaga near Pie IX. In what part of Montreal do you live and work? There is a Montreal forum member (Eric?) who is also a great photographer. Look in the Long Distance subforum for advice.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I registered for the Ride to Conquer Cancer this Saturday, so now there is really no backing out.
I am located at the old port, but can drive to any part of the city, i'll check the shops out.
Though, I think I am going to buy a bike via ebay.
