Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Do the guys on this forums shave their legs? Personally I hate hairy legs. Lol. I would think that if I had toned calves I wouldnt want the hair hiding it. Just a question for u guys XD

I sure hope not
roadie forums are that way ------------>
One of the guys that worked at the shop I used to work at had "SINGLE" tattooed on the back of his left leg and "SPEED" on the back of the right leg. I never saw any hair on his legs so either he didn't have noticeable leg hair or he shaved his legs.
My vote is for the latter.
My legs are amazing, and I do shave them occasionally. I also ride 40+ miles a day and wear lycra. Mostly, though, I just loathe body hair.

I'm hairy. But I never go fast enough for it to matter.

I love my hair, it gives me somthing to pick out of my road rash
I could probably get more chicks with shaved legs though, I do live in portland.

I like to shave stripes into my leg hair. Sometimes a spiral. But that takes more skill.

I started shaving my legs 40 years ago when I got into bike racing and it was fashionable to do so. I still do it today, but only during race season. The reasons given back then were that it was easier to get leg massages with shaved legs and road rash from crashes healed faster and it was easier to remove bandages. But frankly, I think it was mostly ego and we just liked showing off our over-developed leg muscles.

Oh man thats a damn good idea, maybe I could just shave flames into my legs instead of traning this season.

... I know ladies dye their facial hair. Maybe you could try that on your legs. ... Your girl would notice shagginess of your legs only in bed. :thumb:

Yup, I keep 'em shaved, pretty much all the time, since I hate shaving the first time after it grows all the way back in.
I race mtb, cyclocross, and track, so I'm racing pretty much all year round here in TX.

Being a contrarian, I shave every part of my body other than my legs.
I shave. I'm a roadie, it's just that one of my bikes has one gear and doesn't coast.

T....M....I.
I will now admit, I do shave. But my hair is starting to grow back. The thing that sucks for me, is that once I show it off when I have really short leg hair (not stubble), everyone notices when you shave. lol who gives?
But yeah. I just dont like hair, and once I REALLY start to tone up my legs, i will want them to be more accentuated FTMFW!

I shaved once for wrestling and my hair never grew back :(
So I guess no need for it anymore :)

I consider you lucky and envy your legs (their attributes....)
Haha. The thing that sucks though, is that now I have a very noticeable farmers tan where my cuffed jeans cut off. I cuff them up to the knees lol. So now, even if I could wear shorter shorts, id have shaved legs, and a little bit of hair visible on the thigh....enough to make it look odd.
HOW MANY PEOPLE SHAVE THEIR THIGHS HAIR?!?!?!? =p

I only burn my leg hair off rather than shave. What happens is the fire burns the hair completely until the root. Make sure you do this for all the hair on your leg. Then the holes where the hair used to be fill with air as you move, and just like the dimples on a golf ball, air over air makes it more aerodynamic.
No joke.

Wow really? Well I've got two questions for you though. First, how would you burn hair off of your leg without burning yourself? And second, hair is so thin, so I would imagine that the holes would be so tiny that it would make little or no difference at all, unless you're legs are like the missing link to big foot or evolution of mankind or somethin.

i wax my entire body every three weeks. i'm a generally hairy person, and removing only the hair on my legs is awkward.

in 3 weeks from a wax the hair isn't long enough to be waxed again on most main large areas of the body.
