Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Help! Should I get this Langster London and pass on my bike?

Ok so here's my current conundrum (keep in my mind I'm sort of on a budget as a full-time college student):
I want to build a bike for my girlfriend to use on campus (especially if she decides to go to UCSD which is huge) and commute with. She used to ride fixed as a child on her old old bike.

I've been looking on Craigslist and found this Specialized Langster London Edition (http://www.jacksbikes.com/contents/media/specialized%20langster%20london%202008.jpg). It's an aluminum frame with a carbon fork and comes with a new front Bontrager tire and tube, with rear Gatorskins, Sugino RD crank, with 48t rin EAI 16t cog, Dura Ace Lockring, and a HKK track chain.
The part that REALLY turns me on to this is that it's $350. And it's a bit bigger than the my Mercier but still under my standover.

My dilemma is whether I should get this bike and paint my Mercier (that has totaled up to $500) and gift it to her. The thing is that she is quite petite and to be honest, her inseam is an inch short of the standover of the Mercier. Personally, I used to ride my dad's old 10 spend that I converted for school and I was 2-3" shorter but I hardly noticed and adapted well. I just trackstanded and never had to get off, which she can too.

Should I pass up the Langster and just keep looking for a bike that would fit her? I've wanted to build a bike for her and I have finally have the time too, but then this opportunity pops up! What should I do?

If you like it, it's a great deal, I'd follow through with what ADSR suggested. Sell, or trade, for a smaller frame.

Because people's girlfriends are either mean, pushy and manipulative or they are nice and deserving of thoughtful gifts. OP's girlfriend sounds like a heinous jerk or a supremely lovely lady if he's going to all this trouble for her.

To all of you, don't make judgements before you understand the situation. We both push for androgyny in our relationship so I don't believe in in that stuff. We both pay for our own stuff and do things for each other out of love, not because of the "innate" conventionality that men have to support their women.
She bought me a $150 peacoat (I'm into fashion) and I've used books after she was done with some class and all books I've used total up to $200ish.

And yes, she is quite the lovely lady haha. She pulls some crazy stuff for me, so bam, I'm returning it (especially since summer is coming around). Sorry if we are too liberal/progressively minded for anybody here who believes that power belongs to the man :)

No one really needs to justify or defend how much money they spend on someone and why.

Only to their wives... And then the scale is much different. Peacoats and textbooks are cute and all, but when I spent $14k cash on a motorcycle, my ex insisted that I buy her a Jeep.

Blame the stomach flu. I can honestly say that if anyone tells you I'm full of s**t, they are dead wrong. Dropped 8 pounds in two days.

I guess it really depends on how you view the ideology and the context. I'm a student of human services and family/marriage therapy, so my definition is refined differently than say an english major or someone who just reads it out of a dictionary. The power goes to the holder of the definition, so the miscommunication might be that you view the word in a different meaning. But you know what I'm trying to say, right?

What I got from that was that you've made up your own definition of the word. That's all well and good, unless you plan on using it in a conversation with someone other than yourself.

You forgot cigar smoking and cradle robbing. But I haven't done much of any of that lately. Except for the cradle robbing. Our wedding is in June.
