Winter Cycling - HotHands

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I had some HotHands chemical hand warmers that came free with a pair of gloves. They've been riding in my seatbag. Went for a 20-mile ride today in the cold and snow. I was wearing sneakers and thick socks. I hate wearing heavy boots and avoid it whenever possible. My toes started getting a little nippy - nothing serious. Then I remembered the HotHands. I put one in each shoe and MAN was that nice. I'm going out to get some more.

You can buy them by the box on Amazon.com. There are ones specifically for putting in boots and shoes as well.

Unless it was a really long ride, don't forget to pack them away in an airtight, low volume container afterwards. Then, you can use them again the next time, up to a total of 4-6 hours, depending on make and how good the airseal is.

yeah, I learned the hard way. I'm a fan of these for sure even if I wear more than sneakers!
