Bicycle Mechanics - Plug for thick-walled 1" Carbon Road Fork??

I purchased a set of 1" Ritchey WCS Carbon Road forks with carbon steerer.
Nice and light...look to be good construction. I'd sure like to get them
installed on my Ritchey Road Logic frame in place of the steel forks I'm
running now.

The carbon forks did not come with a steerer tube plug to allow the headset top
cap to thread into, though they were supposed to. The shop I bought them from
swears up and down that the plug was not in the box when they received it,
though Ritchey reports all forks are shipped from them with plugs. I have
contacted Ritchey several times about getting one from them, but they have
stopped returning my e-mails.

The carbon steerer tube has rather thick walls; I have tried two after-market
plugs designed for 1" steerers, but they were too large in diameter and would
not slide into the steerer. By rough measurement (my micrometer is at home),
the steerer looks to have about a 19mm inner diameter; both of the plugs I
tried were at least 20mm or more.

Do any of you have any ideas about where I could get either a real Ritchey plug
(preferred) or another brand that would work with a steerer tube of 19mm inside
diameter?

I'd take it back to where you bought it and make it their problem.

Try Supergo.com for what? Is there a particular plug that you know will fit a 19mm steerer? Otherwise, I don't want to send good money after bad and find it is too small like the other two plugs I purchased.

As for sending it back, I'd rather not do that. These forks are in VERY short supply; I can't find one actually in stock anywhere else. You can find 1 1/8", or 1" in aluminun steerer, but not 1", carbon steerer, WCS. I could get my money back, but then I would be out a fork and plug, not just the plug.

I duno why you are so enamoured with a Ritchey fork anyway.
Just made by some oriental outfit with Ritcheys logo on it. Not like others won't work with the Ritchey frame.

I am pretty sure the one available from Quality* under the Problem Solver line will fit. The guys that got you the fork can get one from them.

*Quality is the big supplier of all things bike for dealers.

Really the shop you got the fork from should take care of your problem, that is what we do.
