For the past few weeks, I've had a squeak coming from my cranks. I think it's just the left, but it might be both, not completely sure. They're Sugino cranks, I believe they came with my Peugeot Orient Express. When I changed the pedals a few weeks ago, I partially stripped the left pedal threading, but it was squeaking before that, which is why I replaced the 24 year old pedals. I applied pressure to the cranks themselves, pushing them both down, and I kept hearing a click. I'm already going to replace the cranks, I'm thinking of using these:

Would replacing the cranks help get rid of the creaking/squeaking noise?

It depends on whether or not that was the noise, check out what Sheldon Brown has to say about the matter and see if that helps narrow down the source:

Since you are swapping out cranks, you are eliminating a number of things listed on the sheldon list Ryanwood attached (crank bolts, chainring bolts, etc). However, are you replacing the bootom bracket too? If not, while the cranks are off, I would go ahead and do some work on the BB (grease threads, ensure proper torque on cups) in case that is source of noise
