Bicycle Mechanics - Campagnolo lever clicking 4 times

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Hi everyone.
Its a Veloce QS shifter and a Veloce QS front derailleur.
I just readjusted the derailleurs and now my left shifter is clicking 4 times instead of the normal 3. So, it clicks 4 times and goes onto the large chainring but then i have to click down two times to go to the small chainring. My front derailleur has been a little stiff recently and iv been using my left shifter quite harshly. Im guessing iv broken the ratchet mechanism in the shifter does anyone know how i can fix it?

Sounds like the cable tension is too low and/or the limit screws are not set properly. All of the QS FDs that I've owned require 4 clicks of the finger lever to shift from the little ring to the big ring. That is normal. Be sure that you have the shift cable routed correctly - over the small metal tab, then under the head of the clamp bolt, not between the tab and the clamp bolt.
Everything was setup correctly, iv taken the lever off now and It clicks 4 times, then another 2 times. Which makes 6 times, before it would click 3 times and then 3 again.

If your shifter is truly broken, the best thing you can do is toss both of them and buy a new pair of 2010 Veloce or Centaur Ultrashift ergo levers. The Veloce model is only $120 at Ribble and that includes a new cableset.
I would not waste time and money on repair parts for an escaper shifter. Campy has quit selling individual parts to repair these shifters. The major assemblies that they now sell are too expensive to be cost effective.
