Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Zullo

Any idea what this is worth? I'm going to look at it tomorrow.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat at his asking price. Luckily, it is half a country away. :)

I happen to like the 600 gruppo, although some would pine for a Campy mix.

If this bike has no major issues, and if it fits, buy it. The price is on the low side, as I would pay more than that just for the frame.

Again, buy the bike.

I called on that bike myself. It is an older model, with unknown frame material. But it is an Italian bike, at a low price. I just have too many bikes already.

Until you nail down the grade of the tubing, it is not possible to put an accurate value on it.

I thought it was kind of marginal. Pictures did not look like a Zullo, he thought it was newer than it was, and so on. Probably a good buy, but not a honkin' great buy.

Paint is almost identical to a Zullo I saw this past summer in Cecina, Toscana. I had already purchased two framesets to bring home. The model I saw had a very nice condition 9 speed Chorus gruppo. They wanted 1050 Euro! The details on the frame I saw were superb, and the modified "Z" symbol is kind of etched into my head after looking at the bike.

Would have like to have seen closer detailed shots on this sold Zullo.

If all was legit, this was a steal! None of the components listed would have made any difference to me. I would have enjoyed starting fresh on that frame.

Based on pictures I got from the seller, it was a 1982 to 1984 era bike, with all Shimano 600 components. Drop outs were generic brand and painted (not chrome). Fork was painted as well, ditto all lugs. Decals had some typical wear.

Nothing in this area sells for 1050 Euro, or close to that amount. Buyers disappear around the $200 to $250 mark, so anything above that tends to last for a while (the Zullo was up for several days). I picked up a nice Colnago last year that was on our local C/L for about ten days, at a very attractive price (a lot more than $250, but pretty attractive nonetheless.)

Bike predates Spirit tubing. Tubing sticker is gone, some minor remnants remain on the down tube.
