Foo - xc ski racing.... AWSOME to watch

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Watching the Olympic skiing, it is so cool. Looks hard. Watching the guys fall over at the end, crazy

Awesome to do, too. After high school, I raced for Kneissl for 2 years. Short of swimming, I haven't found anything else which is such a full-body workout.
Only way to make it more awesome is to add a rifle into the mix. I raced biathlon for a few years, too.

.I watched the women's 10k today. I love the endurance sports and the girls were awsome! Can't wait for the men's 10,000 meters speed skating event

The group format of the Nordic Combined was more interesting to watch.... but I guess you couldn't set them ALL off at the same time in the XC without them falling over each other.

It is tough until you get the basic technique (V1) down. I took it up 13 years ago while looking for a winter filler activity since I didn't icebike at the time.

Not a true fan of xc skiing :p...throw a gun in the mix and it rules :D
Really wishing I could be watching Biathlon today. Stuck at work while most of my friends are in the Callaghan...

That is teh cool part of the relays, not enough room for all the individuals in XC, but enough room for all the teams in a relay.

It's right up there with Curling.

It's more fun to watch than I expected, but I'm a bit offended that one competition that gets awarded a medal, is the prelude to another competition with it's own medal. If one event has concluded with a medal awarded, how do they justify giving time advantages based on it, in an event with it's own medal. I'm sorry, but that is wrong. The overall event should have one set of medals awarded.
