So I found this out and it seems like a pretty important piece of info. Apparently if you let the batter on the Trek electric bikes get to low, i.e. leave the lights on overnight, the fast charger that is provided with the bike won't be able to charge the battery. One must send the battery back to trek to charge it. This brilliant idea can take 3 weeks to execute, plus shipping costs of a heavy battery.
just an fyi, the bikes seem pretty dang solid otherwise.
Must be an issue with the BMS? They had better get that figured out before too many bikes go out the door for sure for that kind of $$. My $1000 setup has no such issues however, not to mention another 750w's of get up and go. I can barely stand to ride any EU compliant bikes any more. My setup only goes to 20 mph under motor but it gets there with authority.

Thanks for the post. That is REALLY helpful as I was planning to let my battery go flat as the owner's manual recommends the for the first few charges. I'll let it get low but not too low.
