It is not really a charity project it's more about raising awareness of trash and pollution problems but I figured out this is the most appropriate place to post this.
This is the third great expedition for the Bulgarian cyclist Vyacheslav Stoyanov. He had another one expedition around the Black Sea and the Greek shore an year or less ago. Well I had the luck to meet this amazing person and he really has the spirit! :) No matter how hard it is to start anything serious in Bulgaria, he had the guts to do it and makes it even larger with every expedition to pass. Now he's going around the Mediterraean Sea and wishes all who want to cycle together with him to join him and well this is what he says to the ones with the bikes..
Contact me to join in the Bicycle Relay-Race for total integration between us, cyclists, living around the Mediterranean Sea. Let’s come together! Join en-route on your bicycle!
Let’s remove the boundaries in ours minds and build the first common, international path around the Mediterranean Sea.
I would join if I lived somewhere around, if I had a bike at all and may be there are a lot of people who would like to take part in this wonderful cause. The cause itself is the popularization of the idea about a better and greener future where trash would not be a waste at all...or may be not that big as it is now. He takes observations of how diffrenet countries deal with their trash and may be they're not that responsible as it seems.
The expedition along the Mediterranean coast will transform the motto “i THINK!” It is connected with Factor Foundation, recently registered by Vyacheslav Stovanov. The foundation will unite designers, scientists and researchers, the so called developers of consumer goods. Gathering in groups, the intellectuals will design materials, technologies and products for industrial production, which will spare the environment in the future. Factor Foundation will deal with the reasons for the problem with garbage and not with the consequences of it.
From 1 January 2010 till 10 November 2010 the bicycle expedition “REcycle” will be held along the whole basin of the Mediterranean. The expedition will continue 10 months, passing through 22 countries and covering more than 23000 km.
This is basically the plan.. but as you know, no matter what experience you have, when you set foot on the road there's always something to go wrong.. this is why it is called an adventure! :D
