You still have that walkman that was clipped to your shorts? And with that much hair who needs a helmet? I dig on the old pics, always brings back good memories.

First-ever triathlon. Jun '86 in Dana Point:

First bike-only race. Got caught in pile-up and spent the rest of the time chasing alone:

One of many tris around Lake Bonelli, 1987. I was taking a photography class at the time, so I developed this pic myself. Narrowly beat some other guy in a close sprint for second, after he ran directly behind me during the whole run (he had a really cool, pre-tri-bars, time-trial bike.) That was the day I threw up in the grass at the finish line:

(I really, really loved that Schwinn Peloton-- that bike was greased-lightning.)

You must promise not to laugh...
This is circa 1982 or 3... Lunch stop on the Kangaroo Bags ride (now the Cool Breeze) my first organized ride. I have no idea why we are all making weird faces...

Me "mountain biking"in the early 90's (in Mammoth). I believe the bike was fully rigid. Note - the helmet angle...

It's funny I would never wear a jersey for years and years. T-shirts were fine. Heck when I started riding seriously (1980) I wouldn't wear a helmet - it would mess up my hair! I am lucky to be alive!!!!

If the latter were the case, I would have spent the whole day upchucking because everyone was diggin' on my aerodynamic speedo. :D
It was a hellacious sprint and I was barfing my coke/water energy drink. I remember feeling really great after that.

"Cali" is a city in Colombia and in 1991 I was living in NC...

"Cali" is a city in Colombia and in 1991 I was living in NC...
Both of these facts copied form Wikipedia:.......Cali was used as a short name for California, like I've said several times before. If you disagree, your verison of Cali is also used as a shortened name for the full name of the city, so you aren't any more correct than I am!.;)
In the case of this thread, it was used in humor in reference to another thread, so more than likely, the joke just flew right over your head. But thanks for the attempt to correct me!:roflmao2:
Cali is the shortened form of the official name of the city Santiago de Cali.
Slang or short (sometimes pejorative) for California, a western state in the United States

Wow, all of those Cartographers must have it wrong then!
BTW, LA/Los Angeles is really supposed to be El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Angeles del Río de Porciúncula (The Village of Our Lady, the Queen of the Angels of the river of Porziuncola).
There are acceptable abbreviations and then there are unacceptable and abhorrent abominations.
Next time you go to Texas, start calling it "Texi" whenever referring to that state and see how much love you get.

Wow, you are soooo smart! I already explained the humor in the title but if you can't understand that, then maybe I'm giving you too much credit;)
The comment I posted earlier already verified that Cali was used as a short slang name for California. Maybe you were in NC at the time and don't know the real California other than what you read on the world map!:D
Ever hear of The Blue Crew? Look on the map, does it have the Dodgers on it, no cause it's a nickname just as Cali is a nickname!;) A map is a map, real life is real life!
Next you will argue that all the Chevy signs are wrong. But if it pleases you, from now on, I will address Chevy as Chevrolet eventhough I didn't find the nameonthe map!:D

That's his style in more than just geography. If I had started a couch thread, he would have argued that it's davenport!:D.....He's actually being much nicer than he has been with others in the past. I'm actually starting to think this guy likes me!:D
