I am installing a BB in my K2 Lithium, aka my "money pit bike build project". Anyway, it is a RaceFace srx that came with my new evolve crankset. When I install it without the spacer on the drive side, i get a lot of threads showing outside of the BB shell on the cup for the non-drive side. But, what I am running into, is if I do use the spacer on the drive side, i appear to be having issues with my chainline, and cant keep the chain on the middle chainring when I am on the big cog in the back. Since these bikes new are spec'd with the evolve crankset, and this is the same BB that comes spec'd with it, I assume it is the right set up. What am I missing?

The first thing that I would do would be to measure the width of the bottom bracket shell. It doesn't sound right to me, but could it possibly be a 68mm shell width?

Is there a reason you don't want threads showing on the non-drive side? There isn't anything mechanically wrong with having threads show. That cup is designed to fit many bb shell lengths. If it can be properly torqued, the cranks fit on snugly and the chainline is correct, you should be fine.
