"The 33"-Road Bike Racing - I just have to ask...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

For those of you who are looking to upgrade from races, if you are with USA cycling where do you look for races? I used Truesport all last year but as I hear you can't get upgrade points from ABR which most of their races are led by. I recently found a site that is specific to the state I am in that is called Ohio Cycling Association. I will be doing these races mostly but a lot of these haven't recieved USA cycling permits yet. Am I missing something because I always thought there were a lot of choices for races?
The search function didn't help me much here.

I think you have the right site for your area. Many races aren't permitted until just a couple weeks before the event. Sucks that there's no forum on that site, but I'll wager that most or all of the races on the calendar will be held as scheduled and will be USAC official.
Try this: http://usacycling.org/events/index.php?state=OH&race=Road

Thanks, good to hear, I wasn't too concerned with getting serious last year so I never paid attention to the differences between USAC and ABR. So I will just assume they're valid and go from there.

Yeah, its kind of a pain.
Not sure how far London is from Chicago, or what kind of vacation time you've got, but Superweek is USAC and a great opportunity to get tons of great racing in mid July-every day for two weeks. (eg. hour long crits for 4s.)
