Road Cycling - Guess RB1 - good first road bike? should I get it?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I went to a bike shop today and saw a "Guess RB1", I havent heard of guess because I know very little about road bikes as this will be my first. I am just after a good first road bike I can train on, get fit and hopefully go out with my local club. The bike had shimano sora (would 105 be better?) and a guess 2 cog front sprocket. If i were to get a bike id like to get a shimano flight deck computer too. I dont really know what im looking at here, i see bikes with £3,000 price tags on them, and look at a £500 bike, and don't know the difference. :(

What size frame will I need? Im 6ft tall and the bike i sat on was a small frame, i felt cramped and uncomfortable on it, the shop dude said I needed one with a bigger frame but he didnt have any bigger bikes I could try. I will be going back there tommorow afternoon probably because I have to pick up something my brother sent in for repair.

The RB1 has got some great reviews and got voted best (in its class) bike in a few magazines.

You'll get more feedback at C+.
