Well, Ive been out here for almost a month now looking for the FLAT land in Wisconsin. I can tell you now, it's pretty rare. We did get out the tape measure the other morning up there just south of Superior and came up with about eleven and one half feet of it; but then it rained and became a hill!

Got mooned by a hwhole herd of spoted dairy cows over near Stevens Point, it was on a hill too!

A thousand miles since Chicago in July, to the Apostles and over to the St Croix river and now the Ole MIssissippi and the only way to get flat land, i figure, is to commandeer a steamboat and float down the river, just riding the bike around the decks, over and over again.

Someone said La Crosse would be a good place to be a pirate so it off toward Lacrosse tomorrow to check it out. Might build me a chanty boat and be a river bum for awhile!

If you get the chance the Great river road trail from Prescott south is pretty stuff, the fall leaves along here must be a spectacular sight and I'm from New England!

I hope you all are able to get off the computer and just go touring soon!

The flat part of Wisconsin is in Illinois, south of the Illinois River.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll be heading down river and into Ill from here. I have a nephew in NOrmal, Il, so I'll get off the river for awhile and decide where to ride to next. I feel like meandering for another month or so. It's good for the body and mind!
