So I was riding, and a branch got caught in between my rear cog and the chain. Broke ONE chain link. Do I need to replace the ENTIRE chain or can I just insert ONE chain link?

Inspect the chain, visually and determine if it is just one link that is twisted/broken. If it is, you can easily just remove that section and replace with a quicklink/masterlink type connector. You'll also need to tell us what chain you are using and the speed.

It's also helpful to know if it's 3/32 or 1/8. If it's 1/8 finding a quicklink/masterlink will be more difficult.

Closely look at the side-plates on the chain. What little letters & numbers do you see?

And yes to operator above - a 1/8th will be a tough one. Did this come stock on a bicycle? Brand? Year?

Just looked up the specs on BD.
