I was jumping a gap over some shrubs with a curb on both sides (you know, the kind of decoration type things in retail store parking lots) and I caught the curb on the way down a bit sideways. The concrete ate the side of my rim, it looks all chewed up now and I need to true the wheel. Kinda funny :o

I hate when crap like that happens. I remember jumping a set of a dozen or so steps to flat bottom, and I had done it like ten times or so, and the last time I did it I heard a crazy creak when I landed. I stopped and looked at my bike and I didn't see anything wrong.

But, I started riding and it felt all crazy.

It took me a second to figure out that my fork had bent about 3 inches forward!

Glad I had another fork at home, but even more glad it didn't snap off altogether.

what gets me even more is that after that my tire pressure was lower....but I didn't pop the tube, and there wasnt a gas station anywhere around. Just going to have to true it, probably tonight since its raining and the mtb needs attention anyways.

ya i have one to go with that, we were practicin bunnyhops today goin higher and higher, anyway right now im ridin a diamondback viper, just bought a mirra flair, kinda got ripped off, but thats not the point, i did a pretty small bunnyhop and somethin sounded like it was rubbin or some wierd sound and i looked down and sure enuff it was my tire sinkin to the ground and the sound was air slowly seekin out a tiny hole in my tube.

horsehop...sounds a tad rediculous, is all a bunnyhop man. Oh, and the SS MTB is a bottom bracket and chain (both in the mail) away from being completely rebuilt, lubed, adjusted, etc. Makes me happy in the pants. LOL!!!

its a single speed converted GT Timberlne (98 model, 4130 triple triangle frame, great stuff there) it has a few mods here and there to make it more versatile and more adapted to its single speed role, but otherwise its just how smooooth and quiet and well tuned it is (I like to stroke my bike building ego). I have to say its one of my best maintained bikes, 7 years of pretty much weekly use (on singletrack) and it still has ALOT of its original parts, a true testament to how long stuff will last if you tear it down, clean it, and lube it properly!!
