Foo - She actually pulled it off

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
The eldest girl just found out that she is getting an academic scholarship to her first choice school. Full ride, tuition+room/board. Looks like everything but the books. And she hasn't filled out the FAFSA yet...

Good for her.... and you...
Gee WOW Hurray!
That's so great! I hope you tell 100 times how great that is. I always had to work so I could pay a few k's every semester... and that was WITH the fafsa.
Now you just need to get a .50 caliber and head-shot-snipe any boys that might derail the plan.

Thanks goodness. From the title I thought it was some Lorena Bobbitt type story.
BTW, congrats.

She really hasn't had that much time to socialize, what with all the studying, the debate tournaments, robotic competitions, and I think she's supposed to be in a musical before the year is out.
As for the boys, apparently I can be rather intimidating, physically, without even realizing it. And any and all prospectives have to watch the movie "Teeth".

How awesome for you both!!!! She obviously worked hard and deserves it. Now your charge - to make sure she doesn't mess it up and lose it!

She knows the only way she'll get a car is if she buys it herself. We might go in half on a motorcycle/scooter, though.
Excellent!Hey, a year ago, she really wanted to be in your neck of the woods- R.I.T., but now she'll be staying in state (OK).

I'd highly recommend the Motorcycle Safety Course (http://www.msf-usa.org/index_new.cfm?pagename=RiderCourse%20Interactive%20Tour&referer=RiderCourse%20Interactive%20Tour) if you go that route. I took it after having my license for 10+ years and wish I'd taken it right away. I learned plenty.
Oh, and congrats to you both.

Congratulations to her.
You can get a nice bike with the money that you don't have to spend on college. ;)
