Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Does anyone know what this is?

I recently acquired a used bike. I am not familiar with the "Campy" line of bikes at all. There does not appear to be a serial number on the bike to reference?

Does anyone know anything about this bike? I would guess a mid 80's model, but not sure.

To be blunt, and not very helpful:

A) A goldmine

Yeah, looks like C-Record equipped - at least the the crankset and seatpost. Delta or Croce d' Aune brakes. Go look up completed auctions on ebay. You have, indeed, inherited a small goldmine (in the vintage lightweight bicycle universe at least).

Given the components, it's probably late to early 90's. The frame was built by Ciocc, obviously, but someone else will have to tell you more about it, or you can research Ciocc for yourself. Lots of info out there.

Oh, and that's an incredibly steep head tube! Have you ridden it? It must have very quick handling.

Those Delta brakes are some of the hottest selling items out there, as well as some of the worse stopping brakes ever made. Advice: Sell them (you can get about $300 or so for the brakeset, these hoods look in great shape) and get some dual pivot Shimano super SLR brakes.

Your CIOCC is an early 90s based on the tubing material and the components.

Beautiful bike! a tall one though. my guess TSX and Campi Corsa Record w/Delta would be very late '80s or early '90s. the RD looks like a later Model though, maybe a early 8spd to assist the Synchro?

the bike is a "Ciocc" italian marque with a nice following.
The components are Campagnolo Corsa Record (C-rec or C-record), which were top
of the line in the late 80's early 90's. The gruppo is (especially the brakes) worth quite a bit.

Yes, it is a tall bike, too tall for me. I paid 250.00 for the bike. I don't think I can really ride it due to the size of the frame. I will probably end up having to sell it, I just have no clue what to ask for it?

If you are going to sell it, part it out... The sum of the parts of this bike is higher than the total. As I mentioned before, just the brakeset will bring you more $ than you paid for the whole bike.

+1 But make sure you know what you're doing and have the proper tools. If you strip a bolt head or some threads, you've shot the value of the component. Don't force anything!

the brakes are probably worth $200 to $300 depending on condition.
and the rest of the group are also worth quite a bit.
$250 for that bike? that is a steal.
you might think about keeping the components and finding a frame that fits you.

Marty does have a point. If you enjoy collecting, you're likely not going to come across these components again without buying them back at a premium. They are the holy grail of that period for many. If you have no real use or interest in them, sell the whole lot to Marty for $50. :)

The deltas aren't that bad if they're set up right. Of course setting them up right is a royal PITA.

my advice...The cost of swapping components from one frame to another - done by a local bike shop who know what they're doing - is probably in the $100 range.
I would find a nice frame that fits, swap parts and then sell the ciocc frame. I've done this before...It's ok if you don't have the tools or the time. When shops are slow, especially winter, they probably don't mind.

You got a great deal on the parts alone. Selling the frame can fund something that's more suitable.

Wardrive, can you take and post a couple more pics of:
the seatcluster (where the pinchbolt is), the brake bridge (where the rear brake is attached), and the opposite side of the top tube showing how the internal cable routing looks?
This is to help me with dating these later model Cioccs...and yours looks like another Billato-built frame, from late '80s to early '90s.
Like others told you: an absolute steal for $250!
