This past summer I rode my first cenutry, solo, in the northern woods of Wisconsin. It was really hilly. Probably would have been more fun if I had done it with someone else, but I felt a huge sense of accomplishment when I finished it. Can't wait for this summer.

Northern WI is an awesome place to ride...lots of nice rollers and trees blocking the winds. I did a nice ride up near Phelps last year.

Doing a century with someone else can be tough if you aren't at the same level. The first few are best on your own in my opinion.

Where did you ride?

Phelps is exactly where I rode. Started in Phelps headed south, here is a map http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/wi/-phelps/552124346630431153
