Looking to replace the fork on my rigid, non-suspension MTB. As the axle to crown length of cyclocross forks seems to be around 395mm, could I use such forks on my MTB? Any issues with brakes?

There will be issues to get rim brakes to meet a 26" wheel braking surface. Disc brakes will be fine.

Why do you want to replace the fork? What would a cyclocross fork have gained you? Just trying to understand what you're after better to recommend alternatives.

Probably just because it's easier to find cyclocross forks that are the right length. But sadly as mentioned they won't work.

Don't give up though. There ARE some rigid MTB forks out there. You just may not want to spend that much on them though. The other thought is to haunt the bike shops for old parts box specials. Same with second hand shops that handle a fair number of bikes. The old rigid forks are out there but you gotta dig around for them.
