I've been on the Loca Moca Java Monster drinks, those keep me buzzing for a while. Gotta take more when I crash though. Might as well just be on meth...

My late night brevet riding energy combo: The Randoccino Speedball

Pour 1 bottle of chocolate Ensure and 1 can of Starbucks Doubleshot mocha into a waterbottle.
Replace lid and shake vigorously.
Take 20 - 30mg ephedrine and 400mg ibuprofen washed back with Randoccino.
Wait 5 minutes and go ride like a crazy s.o.b. until daybreak.

So, no dopage control in brevetting, I take it.

No sir. It's not like I'm going to "win" a brevet. Results are published in alphabetical order. You can roll across the finish line drunk and high, and still get finishing credit if your card is stamped properly. It's not very likely that anyone would do that, but the option is always there.

One of my fave pix is a guy from our club at around 900k into the Last Chance 1200k, in front of a corner market drinking a Coors tall-boy to fuel up for the final 300k.

'Samba' Energy drinks. They are 100% juice with no carbonation. Real tasty and best of all, they are on sale at the local grocery store for 2 for a $1 (15.5 Oz cans).:thumb:

Monster lo-carb or Rockstar sugar free for me. Sugary energy drinks give me the jitters, and the lo carb ones will keep me awake and active for 4-5 hours plus.

Espresso makes me jittery, too. B-vitamins make all the difference in energy drink.

Anyone use the 5-hour energy bottles? I have thought about trying one, someday...

ironically I usually buy the coffee ones. I hate most of the flavours, but if I am in a hurry and don't want a coffee, I tend to grab energy drinks :)

I just look at a pic of Pcad when I need energy. I resort to the naked ones when I am really tuckered.

Rock candy? If you say so but I'm sticking to steroids.

Howling Monkey is one of my favorites. It has quinine in it so it's got that going for you if your in a malaria infested country.
